“Youth Voice” Campaign updates from Kyrgyzstan

By International Youth Day with the support of partner organizations young activists gathered about 5000 postcards with voices of youth from all regions of Kyrgyzstan addressed  President of KR, Prime-minister KR and Permanent Representative  UN in Kyrgyzstan.

In Kyrgyzstan, youth-led organisations are actively gathering postcards through outreach work and through partner organizations.   12 youth-led organizations have already been engaged and they have  gathered about 2900 postcards.
At the end of this week they are going to have focus groups and at the same time are going to gather postcards through youth events and  camps  in the Northern part of Kyrgyzstan.
Starting 20-25 of July they are planning to have focus groups and some activities of gathering postcards in the Southern part of Kyrgyzstan.

“Youth Voice” National Advocacy Campaigns – Summary

The “Youth Voice” Regional Campaign was launched in October 2014 and gathered 80 organizations from 23 countries from the region of Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

May 22 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan held Interuniversity student conference “Youth in POST 2015 agenda: sustainable development goals” in the framework of the national advocacy campaign “Voices of Youth in Kyrgyzstan” under the slogan “My voice should be heard “, which dedicated to new sustainable development goals (2015-2030).

Youth of Kyrgyzstan vote for sexual and reproductive rights!

On December 10th,  Youth Initiative Group of activists (the main initiators of the NGO “Youth Peer Education Network Y-PEER») organized a flash mob in Bishkek (capital of Kyrgyzstan) in the format of “Cup song” to support the new version of the draft law “On reproductive rights of citizens and guarantees of their implementation “, dedicated to the Human Rights Day. Local media representatives were invited, an interview was shown on local television “NBT” and articles were published on about 10 news websites.

Overview of the youth activities in Jashtar Camp 2014

The largest in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia Youth Conference, the Jashtar Camp 2014 has been held on the 15th of November in Bishkek, Batken, and Jalal-Abad and on the 16th of November in Osh and Karakol. This year the organizers celebrated the five year anniversary with an informal conference, whose main objective is to try to get young people interested in actively participating in the development of the country.
