Eastern Europe and Central Asia regional advocacy training and conference
ASTRA Youth members from Georgia and Russia participated with other youth activists in the advocacy training for youth voices and priorities in EECA region that took place from 24th to 26th May in Sofia, Bulgaria. During the training they had a chance to improve their capacity in the advocacy skills related to Post-2015 Agenda and ICPD. Also, participants of the training prepared advocacy messages with youth priorities: education and meaningful youth participation, which were presented to the parliamentarians during Promoting Health and Rights, Reducing Inequalities Towards Better Sexual and Reproductive Health Outcomes conference, that was held from 27th to 29th May.
Valentine’s day activities in Bulgaria
In Bulgaria, Valentine’s Day was widely celebrated and used by youth activists as an opportunity to mobilize and organize various reach-out activities.
World AIDS Day in Bulgaria
The World AIDS Day Campaign is one of the most successful campaigns of the Y-PEER network in Bulgaria. Each year there are a lot of different and interesting things happening all around the country.
This year, one of the most successful events was “All stars basketball game”. Organizing this has been a tradition in the last two years in the city of Vidin and now, the topic was “North against South”. Along with the game, we also did the annual flash-mob with lights in the form of the Red Ribbon.
Bulgarian National Training of Trainers
A national training of trainers having 170 participants took place in Razlog, Bulgaria between the 2nd and 8th of December. It had the support of the Ministry of Health and Component 7, program “Prevention and control of HIV/AIDS”, Y-PEER Bulgaria, PETRI – Sofia, National Centre for Public Health and Analysis and 18 Non-governmental organizations.
